This English-language workshop continues the design and testing of educational role-playing scenarios about climate change and health in a transcultural context. Jointly organized by the Heidelberg University Hospital, Kyoto University, the University of Göttingen, and the University of Osaka, it aims to create a profound awareness of these critical issues through interactive learning methods.
The ECLIPSE team co-developed in its 2024 Kyoto Workshop a short live-action role-play for civic education (also known as a drama game) about understanding climate denial (The Tavern). In 2025, we seek academics, students, and experts from Japan and Germany to expereince this game and co-create variants or new role-play scenarios using design thinking methods. These scenarios simulate realistic challenges in the web of climate change, physical and mental health, and intercultural understanding of these realities to promote strategic thinking and problem-solving.
The three-day workshop is supported by the Japanese-German University alliance HeKKSaGOn.
Participation in the workship itself is free. We will collect a small contribution towards lunch catering.
